This is the first in a set of pieces attempting to capture the essence of a season. Kind of the light and taste of it. Obviously it's easier to draw from what your currently immersed in, so Autumn was first on my list. It's also one of my four favorites times of year, so I was excited to savor it a little bit. Fall kind of has this crisp silence to it. A rich visual saturation but a heaviness at the same time. Everything's dying, and somehow it all remains gorgeous. Like the world's annually taking time to collect its thoughts, sigh deeply, and move on.
